Barakamon director to have Q&A, screening, signing LeftField Media and Bandai Visual announced on Tuesday that they will host anime director Masaki Tachibana at the first Anime NYC convention. He will participate in a Princess Principal Q&A and screening and also sign autographs. In addition to Princess Principal, Tachibana has directed anime such as Barakamon, .hack//Quantum, and Tokyo Magnitude 8.0. He directed episodes of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Ghost in the Shell: Arise Alternative Architecture, and Yuyushiki. The convention will also host the United States premiere of the Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt: Bandit Flower compilation film and a Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt anime music concert led by composer Naruyoshi Kikuchi on November 19. Additionally, Yoko Ishida, Chihiro Yonekura, and TRUE will perform at Anisong World Matsuri's Anime Diva Night concert on November 17. The convention will be held at the Javits Center from November 17-19.

The official website for the live-action film adaptation of Ryo Ikuemi's Principal manga revealed on Monday that film will open in Japan on March 3. The site is also streaming a new teaser video that is region-locked to Japan. The cast includes: Yuina Kuroshima as Shima Sumitomo Nozomu Kotaki as Gen Tatebayashi Mahiro Takasugi as Wao Sakurai Rina Kawaei as Haruka Kunishige, Shima's classmate Mitsuki Tanimura as Yumi Tatebayashi, Gen's older sister, and a music teacher at his school Tomohiro Ichikawa as Yūdai Kanezawa, Haruka's middle school classmate Mashiro Ayano as Riri Kudō, Haruka's close friend Kumi Nakamura as Koto Tatebayashi, Gen's mother Sawa Suzuki as Masato Miura, Shima's mother Miho Shiraishi as Yukari Sakurai, Wao's mother Hiroyuki Morisaki as Yasuhiro Sumitomo, Shima's father Shiori Ishikawa as Ryoei Sugawara Tetsuo Shinohara will direct the film, with a script by Yukiko Mochiji.
