Harcover omnibus edition of Go Nagai's manga slated for July 3 Seven Seas Entertainment announced on Wednesday that it will release a hardcover omnibus volume of Go Nagai's Cutie Honey manga under the title Cutie Honey: The Classic Collection. The large-trim book is slated for July 3, 2018. The classic 1973 manga follows Cutie Honey, an android created by Professor Kisaragi. When he is murdered by an organization seeking the device within her, she seeks revenge. The manga has not previously been released in North America. Nagai's manga has inspired multiple manga remakes, anime adaptations on television and home video, a live-action film, and a live-action television series. Seven Seas has also licensed the Cutie Honey aGoGo! manga, written by Shinpei Ito with collaboration from Hideaki Anno. In addition to Cutie Honey, Nagai is known for creating classic manga such as Devilman, Getter Robo, and Mazinger Z, among other titles.

Autobiographical manga about Cutie Honey's creation launched in July 2016 The 2,580th issue of Nihonbungeisha's Weekly Manga Goraku magazine revealed last Friday that Go Nagai will end his Gekiman! Cutie Honey-hen manga in its next chapter on September 29. The autobiographical manga reveals the production of Nagai's Cutie Honey franchise, going into particular detail about the intended simultaneous launch of the anime on TV Asahi and the manga in Akita Shoten's Weekly Shōnen Champion magazine in 1973. The manga also details the difficulties of launching the serialized manga. Nagai launched the manga in Weekly Manga Goraku in July 2016. Nihonbungeisha published the manga's second compiled book volume on July 10. Nagai's Gekiman! ~Devilman no Shõ~ (Gekiman!: Devilman Chapter) manga ran in the magazine from 2010 to 2012, and Nihonbungeisha published six compiled book volumes. Shō Hirano, Yūna Taira star in film based on Amu Meguro's manga The official website for the live-action film adaptation of Amu Meguro's Honey So Sweet manga revealed on Thursday that the film will open in Japan on March 31, 2018. Yūna Taira (seen below) will play Nao Kogure, while Shō Hirano of the Johnny's Jr. idol group Mr. KING will play Taiga Onise. In addition, Ryūsei Yokohama (below) will play Ayumu Misaki. The rest of the cast includes Kaho Mizutani (upper right in image below) as Kayo Yashiro, Gaku Sano (lower left) as Ikumi Gongawara, Nana Asakawa (lower right) as Miyabi Nishigaki, and singer-songwriter Yu Takahashi (not pictured) as Nao's uncle Sōsuke Kogure. The teaser shows Taiga's marriage proposal to Nao. The film will open on March 31. Film based on Amu Meguro's manga opens in Japan on March 31 The official website for the live-action film adaptation of Amu Meguro's Honey So Sweet manga announced on Sunday that Sonar Pocket will perform the film's theme song "108~Towa~" (108~Eternity~). The band wrote the song specifically for the film. The band debuted the song on November 11 at the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo during their 2017 tour. The band previously performed theme songs for Ushio & Tora, Rainbow Days, Digimon Fusion, World Trigger, and Danchi Tomoo. The Honey So Sweet film will open on March 31.
