“Why the Main Character Always Sits By The Window?” and Other Pressing Anime Questions
We all have those random questions about certain tropes that happen in anime more so than in other types of media. Really there is no way to get those questions answered other than picking up your internet connected device and Googling it, but that seems like so much work. Instead, maybe we can help you answer a few of your more pressing questions. Now then, let’s start, as all great things start, with the titular question. Why the Main Character of an Anime Sits by the Window, Near the Back? The answer is clearly because it is the coolest place to sit, of course. Actually, while that is not completely untrue, the answer is actually because it is much easier to draw and animated. When you only have to drawn one desk and character, and maybe the random jerk sitting in front of them, then that is a lot less work than having to drawn half the class for your main character that sits in the middle of the room. As for why it has to be by the window, well, windows are easy to

Convergence: The Question #2
“Convergence: The Question” #2 by Greg Rucka and Cully Hamner is that rare creature, an event comic that manages to foreground its own agenda and story instead of being a wallpaper for forgettable fights. Rucka handles exposition through dialogue, voiceovers and action. He gets to the points quickly and disposes of them in the first three pages. He’s efficient but also thorough; readers who skipped the first issue or are avoiding the rest of “Convergence” can still get their bearings. The opening scene also reestablishes the larger framing story and reminds the reader of the emotional stakes raised in the last issue. Unlike most conversational information dumping, the dialogue is believable, as it takes place in a hospital, where a character tells a family member what has gone down while they were unconscious. Renee’s philosophical, wryly humorous voice comes across as she talks, and her thoughts complement the action instead of overlapping with it or blunting it. Few “Convergence” t

Convergence: The Question #1
When Greg Rucka departed “Detective Comics” in 2010, most people would remember his and J.H. Williams III’s Batwoman as the big loss with the end of the title; however, Rucka and Cully Hamner’s backup feature starring Renee Montoya as the new Question also came to a close at the same time. Now, thanks to “Convergence,” the gang is getting back together again. Rucka, Hamner and Dave McCaig reunite for “Convergence: The Question” #1, and so far the magic is most definitely back. Rucka and Hamner pick up at an undisclosed time in pre-“Flashpoint” Gotham City, a remnant of a world that no longer exists. Considering how much Rucka loves world building in his other series like “Lazarus,” it’s not surprising that this issue opens with an exploration of what it would be like to live in a city that’s really and truly cut off from everything else. Secret caches of drugs are scavenged, Poison Ivy grows fresh produce in Robinson Park and the residents act like proverbial rats in a cage. Rucka sp

15 Burning DCEU Questions We Need Answered
DC’s Extended Universe of movies started by introducing Superman in Man of Steel; and each subsequent film, from Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice to the soon to be released Justice League, has worked to further the narrative of this super-heroic tapestry, introducing more and more beloved characters to the point that, after five films, we have already seen the Flash, Aquaman, Cyborg, Wonder Woman, Deadshot, the Joker and Harley Quinn in action. The universe grows exponentially with each new movie, introducing characters that are already established as who they are supposed to be in the source material. RELATED: It was an interesting direction for Warner Bros. and DC to take, instead of going the more traditional origin route employed by the likes of rival studio Marvel. The result was characters that fully inhabited a rich world, one that already felt lived-in and established. However, the decision to have this version of the DC universe already fully realized brought with it a lot

Marvel Legacy #1: The Biggest Unanswered Questions
The time has finally arrived. Marvel Legacy #1 is here, and the one-shot has brought with it a slew of teases and unanswered questions for the future of the Marvel Universe. From long dead or missing characters returning, to past-altering cosmic catastrophes, the next year of Marvel is going to be one that shakes things up, for better or for worse. With all of that in mind, we sat down to take a closer look at some of Legacy’s most pressing mysteries, and take some guesses as to what they might mean. What “Infected” the Celestial? The event that assembled the Avengers of 1,000,000 BC has been revealed, and it’s as earth shattering as you might have guessed. A Celestial has crashed into Earth — but not just any Celestial. This one, according to Agamotto, seemed “infected” or almost rabid. Worse yet? It seems to be searching for something within the planet. Luckily, the first ever team of Avengers is ready to stop it, but rather than nailin
