Len Wein Receives Lifetime Achievement Award from Animation Writers Caucus

Late comics legend Len Wein has been recognized with a Lifetime Achievement Award for another industry with which he made a major impact: TV animation. According to a post from Wein’s official Twitter account, the Writers’ Guild of America has announced that the Writers Caucus voted to give the legend the award.

Wein has many animation credits to his name, having written teleplays for episodes of ReBoot, Transformers, Beast Wars, Ben 10, Transformers: Robots In Disguise, Beware the Batman and Batman: The Animated Series, in addition to several of the ’90s Marvel animated series, including X-Men and Spider-Man, among many other contributions.

Wein is perhaps most famous for co-creating DC Comics’ Swamp Thing and Marvel Comics’ Wolverine, in addition to writing and editing a beloved body of work. He was 69 years old and will forever be remembered as a legend in the industry, for his endless contributions.
