As the upcoming television anime debuts a new episode every week, one new 30-second episode of the series of shorts will debut every week on Twitter on Tuesday. The previous week's episode will no longer be available when the each new episode debuts. The ninth compiled book volume of Yamazaki's manga will also bundle a DVD with 24 episodes of the anime shorts when it ships on March 24.

The television anime will premiere on Tokyo MX and MBS at night on October 7, before later airing on AT-X, TV Aichi, TV Saitama, Chiba TV, Hokkaido Broadcasting, and BS11. Crunchyroll will stream the series as it airs, and Funimation will dub the anime.

Wit Studio presented the first three episodes of the television series at Anime Expo in early July, and Crunchyroll screened the episodes in theaters on July 26. Several theaters in Japan also screened the first three episodes on September 9, alongside the first three anime shorts.

The first episode of The Ancient Magus' Bride: Those Awaiting a Star (Mahō Tsukai no Yome: Hoshi Matsu Hito) prequel OVA series had a two-week run in eight theaters throughout Japan in August 2016. The episode was later bundled with the sixth compiled volume of Kore Yamazaki's original manga series in December. The second part opened in seven Japanese theaters on February 4, and shipped with the seventh manga volume on March 10. The third episode opened in theaters in Japan for a two-week limited screening starting on August 19. The screening event also showed the first episode of the TV anime series. The third part later shipped with the eighth volume of the manga on September 9. The Blu-ray Disc of the anime will ship this winter. Crunchyroll is streaming all three episodes of the anime.

Seven Seas Entertainment publishes the manga in North American, and shipped the manga's seventh volume on July 4.
