Anime Series Like Are You Lost?

After a plane crash, four girls are left stranded on a desert island. Luckily, one of them is a hardcore survival enthusiast thanks to being trained by her father.

I suppose Are You Lost is more an excuse to make girls strip down and do questionable things, but it has some solid survival facts in there. If you want more anime like it, then head on down below.

For Fans of Cute Girls Doing Hard Things

School Live

Yuki Takeya is in love with school life. She loves it so much that she joined the School Living Club with three other girls, their supervising teacher, and the club dog Taroumaru. This club makes the most of living at school. However, Yuki’s blissful school life is all a delusion. The real purpose of the School Living Club is to prevent Yuki’s fragile reality from shattering. In reality, these girls are surviving the zombie apocalypse by barricading themselves within the school.

Both shows feature a small group of school girls that were bonded over surviving a disaster. In School Live, it has some surprisingly dark moments where Are You Lost has more ecchi than you’d probably like in an anime about survival. However, zombies aside, both shows are about girls surviving.

Girls’ Last Tour

With all civilization dead, only Chito and Yuuri remain. Together they decide to hop on their motorbike and wander aimlessly looking for their next meal and fuel. Despite a bleak existence, they remain each other’s light in this dead world.

While Are You Lost has a certain element of beach fun to it, Girls Last Tour is more bleak since society has completely collapsed. While they differ in color palate, you will often find a similar tone between these series as the girls try to survive and keep their spirits up in what should be a terrible situation.

A Place Further Than The Universe

Upon discovering an old list she made in the last year of middle school, Mari Tamaki, who is now in her second year of high school realizes she is not making the most of her youth. Whenever she tries to do something new, she is paralyzed with inaction. Then one day she meets Shirase, a girl whose mother went missing when she was in middle school on an expedition to Antarctica. Knowing full well it is close to impossible, she works hard in order to go to search for her mother and invites Mari along for the ride.

Four girls thriving on a desert island is about as believable as four girls being able to travel to Antarctica, but yet here we are. While A Place Further Than The Universe is distinctly more inspiring and realistic, both are about a group of different girls coming together to meet a goal.

For Fans of Educational Series

Cells at Work

The human body has approximately 37 trillion cells that are hard at work every day to keep you alive. Cells at Work tells the story of a red blood cell and a white blood cell and the tireless work of countless other cells to keep you alive. Germ invasions, scratches, and drama unfold inside this body.

Unlike Cells at Work where the information is fully aboveboard, some of the survival facts in Are You Lost are…technically right, but a little questionable. Still, it does try to teach you survival techniques, but it doesn’t go as well as this biology lesson of an anime series.

Long Riders

After being enamored with a collapsible bicycle she saw, university student Ami Kurata empties her account and buys a bicycle. Now with her friends, she enjoys weekend bicycle trips with that changes her view of the world completely.

Both Are You Lost and Long Riders take an “educational anime lite” approach to information. It gives a little bit, but mostly the shows are scenery porn or making cute girls do odd things. However, they both provide some facts on their subject matter, just not as much as you’d like.

Silver Spoon

Yuugo Hachiken is a hard-working, studious student, but he is tired of trying to live up to the academic expectations that are placed on him. So when it comes time to go to high school, he enrolls in the Ooezo Agricultural High School in Hokkaido. Being so clever, he thinks he will excel in the institution, but soon learns that farming is much harder work, both physically and emotionally, more so than he expected.

Both series relish the outdoors and take an educational approach to teaching you about them. However, while Are You Lost gets distracted by other things sometimes, Silver Spoon can leave out some important facts. However, both try to teach you things and have fun while doing it.

For Fans of Wilderness

Laid-Back Camp

After moving, Nadeshiko decides to go see Mount Fuji. She manages to bike pretty far, but has to turn back because of the weather and ends up fainting. When she wakes up, she finds herself somewhere she has never been and no way to find her way back. It is in this wilderness where she is saved by Rin, a girl who was out camping by herself.

You know, there is a Laid Back Camp OVA that is a lot like Are You Lost, but a lot less hardcore. Essentially, Are You Lost is an extreme, less wintry Laid Back Camp where girls bond in the wilderness.

Uninhabited Planet Survive

In the 22nd century, Earth has become uninhabitable, and humanity has spread out to other planets. While on a school trip through space, a class enters a gravity storm and finds themselves stranded on a seemingly uninhabited planet. However, while they struggle to survive, they don’t know what else is lurking in the shadows.

Although Uninhabited Planet Survive is distinctly sci-fi, it has the same theme of a bunch of kids trying to survive after crashing into a strange environment. However, unlike Are You Lost, Uninhabited Planet Survive is more drama and less ecchi and factoids.

Amanchu

Hikari Kohinata grew up by the sea and as a result developed a deep love of scuba diving. On her first say of high school, her hobby and her relentless cheerfulness sweep up those around her in a maelstrom and they all cultivate a love for diving.

Both shows are eye candy for those that like the beach. Amanchu provides a bit of education on scuba diving, but mostly it is just damn beautiful. Furthermore, it also features a bunch of people bonding over the activity.
