News The Promised Neverland Manga Has 1.5 Million Copies in Print

This year's 40th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine is revealing on Monday that Kaiu Shirai and Posuka Demizu's The Promised Neverland manga has 1.5 million copies in print in Japan.

Shirai and Demizu launched the manga in August 2016. Shueisha will publish the manga's fifth compiled volume (pictured at right) on Monday.

Viz Media previewed the manga's first three chapters in English as part of its Jump Start initiative, then added the manga to the anthology's full lineup.

Shueisha describes the manga:

The lady I fondly call mom …is not my mom.
The children I live with …are not my siblings.
This is Grace Field House, a small orphanage.
Although the orphanage wasn't the best, the three protagonists—Emma, Norman, and Ray—lived a peaceful and happy everyday life.
However, one day that life came to an end…
What is the cruel twist of fate that await these children…?!

The manga was nominated for the 10th Manga Taisho awards earlier this year.
